Westech spent 4 years from 2016 – 2020 providing geotechnical drilling services for BC Hydro’s Site C Project, specifically for the realignment of Hwy 29, which required a new 30 km long route and five new major bridges. A significant portion of this work had to be conducted on private property. Westech implemented full tarp and rig pad containment systems to ensure maximum protection of the environment and minimal disturbance of private property terrain. Work was conducted during both weather extremes that have become the norm in the Peace Region. Successfully completed this project through regular -30C cold snaps in the winter and +30C heat waves in the summer.
